Voiceless Campaign

Throne Speech Encouraging…

The government will also crack down on crime, with a special focus on protecting children, women and victims of white collar offences. Proposed laws will toughen penalties for sex crimes against kids, strengthen the sex offender registry and impose new measures to stop internet luring and cyber abuse.

“ Justice must be effective swift and true “ It must also be fair for victims of crime.

Our campaign this year included a petition we asked for you to return to your MP or to the CASE offices.   In a joint effort with Canadian Family Action Coalition (CFAC), we have forwarded all the petitions (approx 15000) and material to Ottawa where Brian Rushfeldt and Nathan Cooper (CFAC) have meetings with MP’s and government officials the week of March 15, 2010.  Every MP has received some material from the CFAC Calgary office, Rebecca McCarrell of CASE met with MP Jeff Watson, Essex, and Jake Sinke (CFAC, Niagara) met with MP Dean Allison, Niagara West - Glanbrook.  On several occasions this group has met with the Minister of Justice, Rob Nicholson (Niagara Falls)  as well as his staff.   From these visits we expect Bill C 58 to be returned to the table. Twenty two MPs (that we are aware of) from four parties have also been sent signed ribbons, a letter, and back up material.

THANK YOU goes to you the supporters of our Ribbon of Signature Campaign!

YOU do make a difference!
